Families in the House

Families in the House is just 20 days away! Wow, I can't believe it's so close! I hope you are getting excited for this year's adventure as we learn about families, through the story of Joseph. I don't know about you, but I think my family is great, odd, funny, can be a little annoying some times, likes to laugh, loves to eat out, enjoys a good party and most of all we love Jesus! I'm posting one of my favorite pictures of me and some of my Nieces and my youngest Nephew. This picture is from the hike we took up to the waterfall in Gatlinburg. I love these guys!

Come to the Families in the House tent this Sunday and get more information on our event! You can purchase food tickets, sponsor a blanket for the orphans in Guatemala, and order your Families in the House T-shirt. Don't forget THIS SUNDAY IS THE LAST SUNDAY TO PRE-ORDER YOUR SHIRTS. rain, rain, and more rain!

Can you believe all the rain? This morning there was a fabulous thunderstorm and lightening show at my house. The thunder shook so hard, I felt my house move!

I thought about how we taught the kids in nursery and preschool about Noah a couple of weeks ago. Remember, it had never rained before the flood, so just think how scary it must have been on that ark. It's only been raining here for about a week and we've had breaks in the rain. Think about being on that ark and watching the rains come down, and come down and come down and continuing to come down! The waters rise and before long all you can see is water. If you've never see rain before, you don't have the confidence that it will eventually stop. Noah definitely had to trust God!

Today is a great day to review our scripture for the month, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart", Proverbs 3:5. Review the story of Noah and God's promises.

Treasures in the House #2

Hope you guys had some good grub last week. I'm on vacation this week at the beach and having some good grub myself!

I'll miss seeing you at KCRG, but wanted to give you new word to learn while I'm gone. The word this week is "Cap'n" and means, the person in charge of the ship. For example, the Cap'n in your home is your dad and moms.

All good pirates listen to their Cap'n so be sure and listen to your dads and moms!

Hope you are planning on coming to Treasures in the House! We are going to have great fun and learn together, (moms and dads too) what it means to be treasure-seekers. To get ready, I'm going to teach you a new pirate word every week. The word for this week is GRUB. Grub is food of any kind. You could use it like this . . . "that was some mighty good grub we had tonight, arrgh!"

Now you tell me what type of grub was your favorite this week.
